RentGuard Canada Terms of Service

Acceptance and eligibility

By using RentGuard Canada, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. RentGuard is intended for adults who can legally enter into these terms.

Service

RentGuard Canada provides informational, calculation-screening, document-organization and workflow tools for residential rental matters in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Features vary by province and may include estimates, guideline or rent-limit screening, timing checks, official-source references, document tools, saved cases, reminders and account features.

RentGuard Canada is not a lawyer, law firm, tribunal, government service or legal representative. It does not provide legal advice, representation or guaranteed outcomes and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the TAL, Ontario LTB, BC RTB, Alberta RTDRS, Nova Scotia Residential Tenancies Program, Manitoba Residential Tenancies Branch, New Brunswick Tenant and Landlord Relations Office, PEI Residential Tenancy Office or any government entity.

Provincial rules change

Residential tenancy rules, percentages, forms, deadlines and procedures can change. Verify important information using the current official provincial source before acting. A RentGuard estimate, screening result or document draft is not a tribunal determination or legal opinion.

User responsibility

You are responsible for selecting the correct province, role and case type; entering accurate facts, dates and amounts; reviewing OCR/imported fields; verifying generated documents and official forms; and obtaining professional advice when appropriate.

Accounts and Team Premium

A normal account is optional for the free quick check. Accounts may use email/password or passwordless email verification. Keep credentials and private case tokens confidential. Eligible Team Premium access is granted only after verification of the exact authorized email address and may be revoked, blocked, disabled or audited by an authorized administrator.

Documents, OCR and evidence

OCR and document-import features are convenience tools and may misread content. Review extracted values before using them. Upload only documents you are authorized to use and do not upload unlawful or malicious content.

Payments

Some advanced features may require payment or an existing entitlement. Billing methods depend on platform, country and deployment. Google Play purchases are subject to Google Play billing rules. Payment does not guarantee a legal result, tribunal outcome, refund, recovery or acceptance of a document.

Refunds and cancellations

For Google Play purchases, use Google Play’s applicable purchase-management and refund process unless law requires another remedy. For eligible direct purchases through a permitted channel, the published checkout/refund terms apply, subject to non-waivable consumer rights.

Acceptable use

Do not attack, overload, probe or disrupt RentGuard; bypass access, rate-limit, entitlement or security controls; misuse another person’s account or case token; upload malware or unauthorized content; or misrepresent RentGuard as a government or legal service.

Privacy

Personal information is handled under the RentGuard Privacy Policy. Depending on the features you choose, the service may process account information, rental case details, documents, support information, security logs, entitlement metadata and deletion requests.

Official and third-party services

RentGuard may link to official provincial resources, payment providers, email services, push services or other third parties. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. RentGuard does not control their availability or content.

Mobile app stores

The iOS and Android apps use the same core service contracts but platform capabilities, billing options and store policies can differ. A feature shown on the web may be unavailable or consumption-only in a store build when required by platform rules.

Limits

The service depends on user inputs, official rules, network availability and third-party providers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentGuard does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation or suitability for every legal or rental situation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses caused by incomplete, outdated or incorrectly entered information, missed deadlines, rejected filings, OCR errors, third-party services or use outside RentGuard’s intended scope. Mandatory consumer rights are not excluded.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using RentGuard at any time and may request account/data deletion through available controls. Access may be suspended or terminated for security, abuse, non-payment, legal compliance or serious violations of these Terms.

Governing law and mandatory rights

These Terms operate subject to the laws that apply to the user and operator. Mandatory federal and provincial consumer, privacy and residential-tenancy rights are not waived by these Terms.
